Zack Snyder's Army Of The Dead Will Be Released By Netflix On May 21

Zack Snyder’s zombie action movie Army of the Dead will hit Netflix on May 21. In addition, the streaming giant will release the first teaser for the movie later this week, on February 25.

Army of the Dead focuses on a group of mercenaries who team up to raid a casino in post-apocalyptic Las Vegas, and stars Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Ella Purnell (Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children). A poster has also been released, which you can check out below:

The movie also stars Ana de la Reguera ( Eastbound & Down), Garret Dillahunt (Fear the Walking Dead), Theo Rossi (Sons of Anarchy), and Tig Notaro (Star Trek Discovery). It’s directed and co-written by Snyder, who previously stated that he started writing it back in 2004, shortly after he directed the remake of the zombie classic Dawn of the Dead. However, it spent many years trapped in development before Netflix stepped in to finance it.

In addition to the movie, there is also an animated Army of the Dead spin-off show on the way to Netflix. The series was announced in September last year and will be titled Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas. The series doesn’t have a release date yet, but we know Snyder will direct two episodes.

In related news, Snyder’s much-anticipated four hour reworking of the DC movie Justice League hits HBO Max on March 18. It has been confirmed that the movie will be released internationally on the same day, across a variety of digital platforms.
